This is a ranking of all of Jenna Stannis's wardrobe. As such, it does not include spacesuits, the Liberator anoraks or the pair-bond dress she was given on Goth(as fetching as it may have been).
#10. "Jenna the CBBC Presenter"
WORN IN: Cygnus Alpha (1x03) - Time Squad (1x04), Breakdown (1x10)
This is just embarrassing. I can't imagine what must have gone through Sally Knyvette's head when they revealed this kindergarten nightmare to her after hyping up her role as an intergalactic smuggler. There's no redeemable quality to it. The shirt is bad, the little colorful "petals" glued to her shoulders are dreadful. Although this particular picture shows her with acceptable maroon pants, they're later switched out for a bright pink number, making it even worse.
Most hilariously of all, Jenna takes the oppurtunity to show off the costume as if she's dressed in a fabulous gown or something. I'd originally thought that Paul Darrow had rewritten his aroused response to a more sarcastic one merely to suit his own whims, but thinking it over, I wouldn't be surprised if Knyvette asked the writers to change it purely because the costume doesn't deserve adulation. Yuck.
#9. "Jenna the Dance Show Presenter"
WORN IN: The Web (1x05), Mission To Destiny (1x07)
The little flower petals still look preposterous, but overall, it's a massive improvement. The wine color suits Knyvette quite well and I dig the fancy collar. The little pink string dangling from the makeshift-looking belt adds personality, as does the big clasp. It looks like something Jenna might have put together herself from various things she found lying around in the wardrobe. Or at least it would, if you removed the petals.
Not her best look by any means, but it's somewhat dignified at least. I also like the little cape she has, it adds some flair.
#8. "Bathroom Curtain Jenna"
WORN IN: Redemption (2x01) - Shadow (2x02), Hostage (2x08)
Despite the difference in design, these two are basically the same thing - cloth draped over a tight black bodysuit(made of a synthetic material which looks to be nylon, but I could be entirely wrong on that, I'm not a fashion expert by any means).
The funky purple one is definitely superior to the garish monochrome mess-terpiece, but neither of them really work with the bodysuit all that well, seeming more like something that just had to be thrown on there because otherwise, well, Jenna would just wear a nylon bodysuit. I feel like there's the beginnings of a good costume here, they just needed more time to figure out what to add.
#7. "Handkerchief Jenna"
WORN IN: Orac (1x13)
Kind of a middle-in-the-road look. Seems like something you'd wear in the summer, which is very ironic, since Jenna suffers from a deadly radiation fever throughout the episode. My only pet peeve is the sleeves - maybe it's the fact that I like wearing long sleeves to begin with, but to have them dangling the way they are here just bugs me for some reason. It's like someone has torn them open. I fully get that this is part of the way this shirt is designed. Everyone's got their own aesthetic quirks. Aside from that though, it's perfectly fine, only unremarkable.
#6. "Jenna Seagal"
WORN IN: Gambit (2x11)
I mean, it's black. That's pretty much all I know to say about it. It's solid by default. Just black. It's like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. None more black.
#5. "Playmate Jenna"
WORN IN: Horizon (2x04), Killer (2x07)
It's the same concept as #8, but much more visually striking. The dress is also better designed and it's just overall a memorable look. That being said, I've left it this low because I don't think a mercenary would really go around in fancy dress for no reason. Then again, Jenna does seem fashion-conscious, so...
